Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 8, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Prospera Credit Union's website, mobile applications, and online banking platform (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any account-specific agreements provided at account opening.

Prospera Credit Union is a demonstration online banking platform. While designed to simulate a real banking experience, certain features operate in a demo environment. Deposit products, where shown, are offered by Prospera Credit Union.

Eligibility

To use Prospera Credit Union Online Banking, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or 17 with a joint account holder for Student Checking)
  • Have an active Prospera Credit Union deposit account
  • Be enrolled in Online Banking with valid credentials
  • Reside in the United States and provide a valid U.S. mailing address
  • Not be prohibited from using the Services under applicable law

Account Terms

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your account number, password, and any one-time verification codes. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorized by you.

You agree to:

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or suspected compromise of your credentials
  • Keep your contact information current so we can reach you about your account
  • Not share your password, PIN, or verification codes with anyone — including Prospera Credit Union employees
  • Sign off or close your browser session when finished banking on shared or public devices

Banking Services

Prospera Credit Union Online Banking provides the following services subject to these Terms and applicable account agreements:

  • Account balance viewing and transaction history (up to 24 months)
  • Internal transfers between your Prospera Credit Union accounts
  • Transfers to other Prospera Credit Union customers and external bank accounts via ACH
  • Bill payment to U.S. payees (electronic and paper check)
  • Spending analytics, category breakdowns, and exportable reports
  • PDF statement downloads and e-statement enrollment
  • Secure messaging with customer support

Transfer Limits and Policies

Daily transfer limits apply to all accounts and vary by transfer type:

  • Internal transfers (own accounts): $50,000 per day
  • Prospera Credit Union-to-Prospera Credit Union transfers: $25,000 per day
  • External ACH outbound: $10,000 per day
  • Bill pay: $25,000 per payment; $50,000 total per day

Transfers submitted before published cutoff times are processed the same business day. Transfers submitted after cutoff times or on weekends and federal holidays are processed the next business day. We reserve the right to delay or reject transfers that appear suspicious or exceed your available balance.

External transfers to accounts outside Prospera Credit Union in this demo environment are simulated and do not represent actual fund movement between financial institutions.

Bill Pay Terms

Bill pay is provided at no additional charge with qualifying checking accounts. You authorize us to debit your designated checking account for scheduled payments. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available on payment dates. We are not liable for late fees charged by payees due to insufficient funds or scheduling errors on your part.

You may cancel or modify scheduled payments before they begin processing. Once a payment has been sent electronically or a check has been mailed, it cannot be stopped.

Electronic Communications

By enrolling in Online Banking, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including account statements, disclosures, legal notices, and service alerts. You may withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time but may not opt out of legally required account communications while your account remains open.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Prospera Credit Union website and Online Banking platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, software, and design — is the property of Prospera Credit Union or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts, systems, or networks
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Services without our written consent
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or performance of our Services
  • Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
  • Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information during enrollment or account maintenance
  • Use the Services to facilitate money laundering, terrorist financing, or other financial crimes
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software component of the Services

Service Availability

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for Online Banking but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Services may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, system upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control. We will provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance when possible via email or an on-screen banner.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prospera Credit Union shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) the balance in your account at the time of the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Dispute Resolution

Most customer concerns can be resolved by contacting us at +1 236 500 9933. If we are unable to resolve a dispute, you agree to binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except for claims that qualify for small claims court. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email to the address on file, a secure message in Online Banking, or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Account Closure

You may close your account at any time by visiting a branch or contacting customer service. We may close or suspend your account and access to Online Banking if you violate these Terms, if we suspect fraudulent activity, or as required by law. Upon closure, you remain responsible for any outstanding obligations and authorized pending transactions.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
